Cannabis, Cannabinoids and Cancer – The Evidence So Far

Because of the lack of clinical trials, there is no conclusive scientific evidence that cannabis can cure cancer. Virtually all trials are conducted in controlled cell cultures or mice. Controlled laboratory studies show positive results but also raises many new questions. The main scientific dilemma regarding cannabis as cancer treatment is how to actually perform the required double blind placebo trials with control groups. The dilemma is due to uncertainties about the complex composition of cannabis and uncertainties about dosing and applying the medicine to match the complexity of the human body. This article explores the struggle of contemporary science to provide unambiguous answers to these dilemmas.
