1 out of every 26 people in the U.S. will develop epilepsy at some point in their lives. Epilepsy is the fourth most common neurological disease and affects people of all ages, yet receives only a fraction of the funding that other neurological diseases. Cannabis has proven to be a highly effective treatment to reduce epileptic seizures, but without funding for clinical trials, resources like cannabis oil go largely untapped. With 150,000 new cases of epilepsy every year and 3.4 million people in the United States living with Active Epilepsy, it’s time we took a look a closer look at this condition that affects more people than Parkinson’s, Cerebral Pulsy, MS, ALS, and Muscular Dystrophy combined.
