MaxLove ProjectJune 12, 2015 -
The MaxLove Project is a nonprofit organization that empowers families fighting childhood cancers and related life-threatening conditions through the use of fierce foods, quality of life care, whole-body wellness resources, education and research. The organization was inspired by SuperMax Wilford, an eight-year-old fighting brain cancer since the age of four-and-a-half-years-old. After five brain surgeries, two chemotherapy protocols, and 30 radiation treatments, Max is still thriving against the odds! Max received all of his treatment at CHOC Children’s in Orange County, CA.
He has also benefited from a full regimen of comprehensive-integrative therapies such as acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbs/supplements, anticancer nutrition, hippo therapy, physical, speech and occupational therapies, swimming, regular physical exercise, and healing narratives. Max has gained many tremendous benefits from this holistic approach to healing.
With the help of doctors, nurses, dietitians, chefs, farmers, integrated medicine practitioners and artists, the MaxLove Project is able to equip families to thrive within the pediatric healthcare system. This organization hosts thrive sessions to help kids thrive against the odds with whole-body wellness. Their fierce foods academy inspires whole-kid wellness and supports evidence-based anticancer nutrition. The MaxLove Project also offers a Love + Light program which helps families explore empowering strategies for fierce minds by using healing narratives.
Powered by it’s volunteers, their mission is to support kids in overcoming the odds – to thrive in treatment and beyond! Learn more about the MaxLove Project on their website.
